IDEAL Teen Transition Program

Eleven area blind or visually impaired high school students participated in the IDEAL (individual development through experience, assessment and learning) program this summer at CBVI. IDEAL is a full immersion, four week program where students live dormitory style at the Center and work on developing the skills they will need
to transition smoothly from high
school to college or into the workforce. Blindness skills training and computer classes fill IDEAL days but there is plenty of time for fun. Evening social activities and weekend day
trips this summer included dining out, miniature golf, rock climbing, and excursions to Penn’s Landing concerts, Blue Diamond Amusement Park, and Cherry Crest Farm’s Corn Maize Maze. Your contributed dollars make the IDEAL program at CBVI possible for blind and visually impaired teens. CBVI is already planning for IDEAL ’08.
Interested blind or visually impaired high school students are encouraged to call CBVI (610-874-1476, ext.161) to set up an appointment to interview for
the program.
