General Information Heading

The Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CBVI), also known as the Delaware County Branch of the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind, is a private, not-for-profit agency. Our mission is to help individuals in the Greater Delaware Valley area prevent, prepare for, and adapt to vision loss in order to achieve independence. Services provided to accomplish this mission include: rehabilitation training, computer and access technology training, employment services, social services, low vision services, psychological services, support, transportation, information, and community education. The agency is administered by a 24-member board of directors, who serve without compensation.

Students in our rehabilitation and computer training programs come from throughout Pennsylvania. Other agency services focus on the southeastern Pennsylvania area. Employees in our employment program are from southeastern Pennsylvania. CBVI is a member of National Industries for the Blind, the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind, the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, and the Better Business Bureau of Eastern Pennsylvania.
