Welcome to the Center for the Blind
and Visually Impaired on the web! This is your source for
information about vision loss, blindness, and the resources we have
to help you. The Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CBVI)
is a multi-service nonprofit agency founded in 1941. Our mission
is to help individuals in the Greater Delaware Valley area prevent,
prepare for, and adapt to vision loss in order to achieve independence.
Our specially trained staff and dedicated volunteers help individuals
who have blindness or vision impairment learn, work, and live independently.

The Center for Blind and Visually Impaired (CBVI),
is a private, not-for-profit agency, located in Chester, Pennsylvania.
Founded by the Chester Lions Club in 1941, the Center serves nearly
12,000 people each year. CBVI provides
a full range of rehabilitation and training programs, as well as
social services, low vision services, and employment services for
individuals with blindness or vision impairment. Many clients are
residents of Delaware County, but program participants come from
throughout Pennsylvania. The agency is administered by a 24 member
board of directors.
Agency Mission
CBVI is dedicated to helping individuals
in the greater Delaware Vally area to prevent, prepare for, and
adapt to vision loss in order to achieve independence. Our goal
is to help those with blindness or vision loss to lead well adjusted,
indepentent, productive, and rewarding lives.
Program and services conduced by the Center for Blind
and Visually Impaired are available to all eligible individuals
without regard to race, color, religious creed, ancestry, national
origin, age, sex or handicap. The Center for Blind and Visually
